All About me Angie Yousry!
Hey! My name is Angie Yousry and I am a senior currently attending The Young Women's Leadership School Of Astoria. I am a proud Egyptian living here in the city that never sleeps New York. To tell you the truth I love reading but, the problem is I never have enough time to enjoy it. As the eldest in my home I have so much responsibilities and once I get the chance to read it's like I am in a whole different world. To you reading is just a book, but to me when I read it's like my own private getaway. Some of my favorite books are "Life As We Knew It" by Susan Beth Pheffer and "The Help" by Katherine Stockett. What I really want to read though is "The Alchemist", it's amazing and I can't wait to read it soon. By the way, I'm a very picky reader, it really needs to be a good book so I can really finish reading it. Not anything catches my eye, so if your like me, try checking out my book recommendation tab! .
So what about writing Angie? How are you as a writer? Well... I like to write when I understand the topic or am interested in what I have to do. It takes for me a long time to actually find a really good idea. Sometimes in the middle of the night I can get this idea and just write it down on a paper. If you ever see my desk, all you see is post-its and papers all over the place written with all my ideas or goals. Like Albert Einstein once said "The cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign? .This quote's first part pretty much describes me, I have so much ideas so much thoughts but, it takes along time for me to put everything together, Supposedly my grandpa who I never knew was a a writer and his process was just like mine, that's what my mom would say. This year I'm having a great time taking two English classes. Double the fun for me (I'm not exaggerating) so far in my 12th grade English class I got to finish writing my college essay! Yay! I've been dying to start writing it and I was given the chance to do it in my own class. In my 11th grade English class we just finishd this really cool 6 word memoir project located below. It's about choosing 6 words that describes you and well mine's was "Never gave up on my dreams" . Long story short, in my culture women are not really allowed to have a higher education but my parents supported me and I was able to break the barrier. Anyways, hope you learned a little about myself and have fun exploring my site!
