I believe That Everybody Has A Story
Reflection On This Project
After finishing the "This I Believe Essay" I think that it really shows who you are as a person. Each person is different and everybody has their own thoughts and stories. I as a person always had strong beliefs in many things like individuality, beauty and more. But, most likely our beliefs that we have written now, ensemble our recent experiences. For me, my belief resembles my most recent experience in public transportation. In these past couple of weeks, I have been a very observative person. Observing how people look, talk and the details in every sculpture/thing. I described seeing a young 19 year old boy weep over his parents death, while on the other hand my sister, friend and the people on the bus thought he was a drunk. It shows how one shouldn't judge another by appearance or his silence. A man named Ali bin Abi Taleb once said "Don't take someone's silence as his pride; perhaps he is busy fighting with himself", think about it and remember all the people you walked by who were silent or looked not normal. They must have all been going through something that no one knew.
Well.. what about your writing process? When one starts writing a new peace of work, one always tends to struggle at something. For me it was starting the essay, keeping the word count to 500 and picking a belief. I approached this by first writing everything I believe in, making a list. Next i decided to I really enjoyed writing this piece and I hope everybody did as well. The challenge was picking a belief because I have so many to talk about. I can't wait to read everybody's beliefs and get to know about them more.
